We offer a safe and happy community in which students work hard and enjoy learning. Our teaching stimulates and stretches students of all abilities to achieve their best.
Chepstow School was proud to recently open a new Learning Zone - click on this link to read more information about these exciting opportunities.
The school is well-equipped, with suites of rooms for each subject: 9 science laboratories, 6 specialist networked computer suites, a business centre, a new "Learning Zone" and 7 technology rooms.
The site is fully networked for computers, with over 300 workstations and computers being used extensively across the curriculum for students of all age groups.
The school benefits from two drama studios, an arts hall and a music suite with music practice rooms. Productions and performances thrive at Chepstow. We have a large orchestra, choir, jazz and other musical groups. Each year we hold at least two concerts, a large stage production and two major student-managed charity concerts.
We also now have a video conferencing suite.
We are also able to offer individual tuition for a wide range of musical instruments.
A team of our Year 7 students have put together a website : www.thinkfootprint.org. The students have been exploring sustainability and the environment, as part of an on-going project. All contents and imagery has been generated by the Year 7 students who have been credited at the bottom of each page unless otherwise stated. The project title is "Sustainable Futures" and the website has been put together to let you know exactly what you can do, to live a more sustainable life and help protect the environment. We hope you find it informative.
M. Anthony.
Class Teacher.
Our canteen provide a healthy, nutritious variety of hot and cold meals on a three-weekly cycle of menus. Students should expect to pay £1.50 for a main meal and £1.90 for a main meal and dessert. Students on free school meals are entitled to choose a main course and a dessert from the menu choice each day. The school has an unrivalled reputation locally and nationally for the quality of our sports programme which includes rugby, football, cricket, netball, hockey, athletics, cross-country, basketball, swimming, racquet sports, weight training, fitness training and dance. Our sports facilities are extensive and include a sports hall, swimming pool, an astro-turf pitch, multi-use games areas, a dance studio and a well-equipped fitness suite.
The school works closely with our partner primary schools to help with the continuity of learning. We run ICT days, drama workshops and science road shows. English and maths have been specifically designed and planned with bridging units, which start in Year 6 and finish in Year 7. We also work jointly on sporting events, concerts and productions.
We are also proud to work in partnership with both parents and the community of Chepstow as a whole: we lead the singing as the lights are switched on at Christmas time in the centre of town; our school is active in Chepstow in Bloom; Senior citizens are invited to join us for all productions; local Veterans of World War II join us for our Remembrance Day Service and Churches Together in Chepstow run weekly meetings in school, leading assemblies and participating in mentoring of students. Some of our students' poetry can be found engraved in the pavements of Chepstow Town Centre.

Rydym yn cynnig cymuned ddiogel a hapus, lle gall myfyrwyr weithio’n galed a mwynhau dysgu. Mae ein dulliau addysgu yn ysgogi ac ymestyn myfyrwyr, i gyflawni hyd eithaf eu gallu.
Mae’r ysgol yn smart a chyflawn o ran cyfarpar, gyda chyfres o ystafelloedd ar gyfer pob pwnc, 9 labordy gwyddoniaeth sydd newydd eu hailwampio, 6 ystafell gyfrifiadurol rhwydweithiol, arbenigol, canolfan fusnes a 7 ystafell dechnoleg.
Mae’r ysgol hefyd yn manteisio ar ddwy stiwdio ddrama, neuadd gelfyddydau a swît gerddoriaeth sy’n ymgorffori ystafelloedd ymarfer. Mae Cynyrchiadau a pherfformiadau yn ffynnu yma yng Nghas-gwent. Mae gennym gerddorfa fawr, côr, a grwpiau jazz, ymysg y grwpiau cerddorol eraill. Pob blwyddyn rydym yn cynnal o leiaf dau gyngerdd, cynhyrchiad llwyfan, a dau gyngerdd sylweddol ar gyfer elusennau; sydd o dan ofal y myfyrwyr.
Rydym hefyd yn medru cynnig hyfforddiant unigol ar gyfer ystod eang o offerynnau cerdd.
Mae gan yr ysgol enw da, dihafal, yn lleol yn ogystal â chenedlaethol am ein rhaglen chwaraeon sy’n cynnwys rygbi, pêl-droed, criced, pêl-rwyd, hoci, athletau, traws gwlad, pêl fasged, nofio, chwaraeon raced, hyfforddiant codi pwysau, hyfforddiant ffitrwydd a dawns. Mae ein cyfleusterau chwaraeon yn helaeth ac yn cynnwys neuadd chwaraeon, pwll nofio, maes ‘astro-turf’, ardaloedd ar gyfer gemau amryfal, stiwdio ddawns yn ogystal ag ystafell ffitrwydd cyflawn.
Mae’r ysgol yn gweithio’n agos gyda’n ysgolion cynradd partner er mwyn darparu cysondeb wrth ddysgu. Rydym yn cynnal diwrnodau TGCh, gweithdai drama a sioeau gwyddoniaeth teithiol. Mae unedau pontio cynlluniedig ar gyfer Saesneg a Mathemateg, sy’n cychwyn ym Mlwyddyn 6 ac yn gorffen ym Mlwyddyn 7, eisoes yn eu lle. Rydym hefyd yn cydweithio ar ddigwyddiadau chwaraeon, cyngherddau a chynyrchiadau.
Mae’n bleser hefyd gennym i weithio mewn partneriaeth gyda rhieni a chymuned Cas-gwent. Rydym yn arwain y canu wrth i’r goleuadau yng nghanol y dref gael eu goleuo adeg y Nadolig. Mae ein hysgol hefyd yn weithgar adeg ‘Chepstow in Bloom’; estynnwn wahoddiad i bobl mewn oedran i ymuno â ni ar gyfer ein cynyrchiadau, mae cyn-filwyr lleol yr Ail Rhyfel Byd yn ymuno â ni adeg ein Gwasanaeth Dydd y Cofio, ac mae ‘Churches Together’, Cas-gwent yn cynnal cyfarfodydd wythnosol yn yr ysgol; arwain gwasanaethau ac yn mentora myfyrwyr. Mae ychydig o farddoniaeth ein myfyrwyr i’w weld wedi ei lingerfio ar balmentydd Canol y Dref, Cas-gwent.
