Welcome to the BTEC Home-School Learning area.
BTEC are vocational qualifications to prepare students equally for direct entry into employment or for progression to further or higher education.
Currently the school offers the following BTEC courses:
BTEC First Certificate in Sport. This course is a two year course and is available to Year 10 students. Year 12 students can also do the course in one year. It is a three unit course and is worth two GCSEs.
BTEC First Certificate in Hospitality. This course is a two year course and is available to Year 10 Students. Year 12 students can also do the course in one year. It is a three unit course and is worth two GCSEs.
BTEC First Certificate in performing Arts. This course is a two year course and is available to Year 10 students. Year 12 students can also do the course in one year. It is a three unit course and is worth two GCSEs.
BTEC National Award in Music (Composing). This is a two year course and is available to Year 12 students. It is a 6 unit course and is worth one A Level.
BTEC First Diploma in Business. This course is a one year course available to Year 12 students. It is a six unit course and is worth the equivalent of four GCSEs.
BTEC National Diploma in Business. This course is a two year course available to Year 12 and Year 13 students. It is an 18 unit course and is worth three A Levels.
