It is very important for young people to have as many opportunities as possible to extend their learning.  We encourage all our students to participate in extra-curricular activities, whether in or out of school.

We run a "Budding Journalist" club, which meets every Wednesday lunchtime in the Library.  Each week articles, which have been written by our students from Year 7 to Year 13 are sent to the local paper for inclusion in their "Education Sections".  Please see Mrs. M. Ellis, Librarian if you would like further details.

Our School Council meet every other Tuesday lunchtime (in Week 1) in Room 14 at 1pm to discuss school issues which are important and which are causing concern.  New members with new ideas are ALWAYS WELCOME.  Lunch is provided.

We also have a reading group, calling itself the "spinetinglers".  They meet in the library at lunchtime once every two weeks.  Students go and talk about the books they have been reading and recommend them to others in the group.  If you enjoy reading, take your lunch along and join them at 1pm on Wednesdays in Week 2.

We run numerous clubs, including:  Orchestra, Art Life Classes, Christian Union, Chess Club, Basketball (girls and boys), Samba Band, A Level Maths Club, Coursework Clinics, Dance classes, Vocal Groups and Welsh Club.  These are, of course, alongside the numerous sports clubs and training sessions which are organised for all year groups.

The 5 x 60 Sports Activities are extensive - running both during the lunchtimes and afterschool.

We also have extra music tuition classes run from school.
