In Key Stage 3 (Yrs 7 to 9) all students follow a broad and balanced curriculum, designed to introduce them to all the main subject areas and to provide them with the skills to a solid foundation for further studies.
In Key Stage 4 (Yrs 10 & 11), all students must continue to follow a set of core subjects - this is a legal requirement of the National Curriculum. Beyond these core subjects, there is choice so that individual interests and talents can be developed.
Year 9 Options 2009
Students received subject briefings for three weeks, to make sure that they were aware of what is involved in all subjects to GCSE.
The Year 9 Options Booklet was given to all year 9 students and their parents received an Options Briefing.
Students then received individual tutor/student interview sessions (where parents were invited to attend) in order to decide upon their option choices.
All option choices were finalised in March.
Details of all subjects can be found in our Year 9 Options Booklet. Our 2009 edition is available to view by clicking on the link below.
Students take up their new Option choices when they start Year 10.
