We have an incredibly busy sports department, who take part in a huge variety of different sports practices and matches, including cricket, football, rugby, netball, hockey, basketball, cross-country and athletics. Results and reports from matches will be available to upload by clicking links below.
We also have an extensive range of sports arranged by Noel Hine who is the 5 x 60 Secondary School Sports Organiser. Again a link will be available below to check what is available throughout the school week.
Congratulations to Year 12 students, George Sariak and Anna Stanley, who have recently been awarded Youth Sports Trust Ambassador Status.
George was awarded the Gold Ambassador Status and will be representing Monmouthshire at Youth Sports Trust this year. He will also be working in school with our Silver Ambassadors to help them as part of our 5 x 60 delivery.
Anna is our first Silver Ambassador. She has also recently been selected to play in the U.18 Welsh Hockey Squad.
Our school teams have started the season in tremendous form:-
Football:
Year 7 beat Monmouth Comp 5-1 (in the Cup)
Year 8 drew with Monmouth 3-3
Year 9 beat Monmouth Comp 2-1
Year 7 lost to Bassaleg 1-2 (in the Cup). It was a very close game, with Chepstow conceding a late goal. Dan Whitehouse was outstanding for Chepstow - scoring a superb goal.
Year 8 had an amazing game, winning 8-7 with Micah Chudleigh scoring 4 goals!
Rugby:
Year 7 beat Caerleon 38-12
Year 7 beat Caldicot 40-0
